Our Mission

"SPARK is a research-based organization dedicated to creating, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote lifelong wellness. SPARK strives to improve the health of children and adolescents by disseminating evidence-based physical activity and nutrition programs that provide curriculum, staff development, follow-up support, and equipment to teachers of Pre-K through 12th grade students. SPARK strives to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction through timely delivery and exceptional service."

In June 1989, a team of researchers and educators received funding from the Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health, to create, implement, and evaluate an elementary physical education program that could eventually become a nationwide model.

Project SPARK, the successful research grant, has evolved into The SPARK Programs. The SPARK Programs is dedicated to improving the quantity and quality of physical activity for children and teachers everywhere.

The SPARK Programs hopes to accomplish this goal by disseminating materials and services created during and after their five year study to schools and organizations throughout the world.

The SPARK Programs has provided full adoption services to teachers/youth leaders representing thousands of schools nationwide.
