Arkansas CWIP Grant |
The Arkansas Tobacco Settlement Commission has partnered with the Arkansas Department of Education Coordinated School Health Program, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and Arkansas Center for Health Improvement to issue a grant application for the 2011-2012 CWIP grant program.
The CWIP program is specifically designed to increase the required physical education time of Arkansas school students to a minimum of 120 minutes through age specific physical activity and education curricula.
The Arkansas CWIP Grant will provide eligible schools with the SPARK physical education curriculum and equipment, Fitnessgram software, HealthTeacher.com curriculum and all teacher trainings.
The Commission and its partners were proud to have the strong support of Governor Mike Beebe, First Lady Ginger Beebe, and golfing legend Annika Sorenstam for the inaugural cycle of this grant program.
In this second application period, the Commission is hopeful to bring CWIP to over 25,000 Arkansas school students by providing grant funding for Pre-K through Middle School CWIP grant programs.
