The Woodland Hills based California Endowment is dedicated to meeting the health needs of California's underserved populations by supporting locally developed efforts that utilize the diverse attributes and strengths of communities. Directions:
Criteria:
- Open to all public and private schools in San Diego County.
- Schools must propose a program that will utilize the full amount of grant money

NJ After 3 Grant Process
First RFP - A Request For Proposals (RFP) for a limited number of pilot projects was made available July 19, 2004, and is now closed.

Grant Size - NJ After 3 grants will range in size from $50,000 to $500,000 with the typical grant between $150,000 and $300,000. Grant size will be based on the number of students served.
New Kids Served - NJ After 3 grants must be dedicated to new after-school programs or significantly expanding existing after-school programs. Any organization proposing an expansion of existing programming will have to meet all criteria and expectations of a New Jersey After 3 program for all students enrolled in both the prior program and the proposed expansion. In June 2007, the Legislative Assembly adopted House Bill 3141, which requires the Department of Education (ODE) to award Physical Education grants to school districts and charter school for activities related to meeting the physical education requirements for instruction of students in kindergarten through grade 8 as described in OAR 581-020-0250 (adopted December 6, 2007). The PEEK-8: Professional Development grant is primarily for providing in-service training to teachers, not specifically endorsed in physical education, on the instruction of physical education and the academic content standards for physical education.
In evaluating the grant applications the Oregon Department of Education, shall consider:
- The physical capacity readiness of the district/school to implement the goals set by the district
- The amount of teacher support within the school where the grant will be used
- The activities identified to meet the stated goals
- Consistency with the district's Continuous Improvement Plan
- Consistency with the district's Wellness Plan
