Wellness Grants
Congratulations SPARK PE Grant Recipients!
| Little Rock School District | Little Rock, AR |
| Pershing Park Elementary | Killeen, TX |
| Terrebonne Parish School District | Houma, LA |
| JFK Middle School of Cheektowaga | Cheektowaga, NY |
| Rankin County School District | Brandon, MS |
We are excited to award the $10,000 value SPARK program package (curriculum, teacher training, follow up support, content-matched equipment) to these 5 schools/districts!
Thank you very much to those who submitted an application to receive our Nike funded SPARK PE grants. We were pleasantly surprised to receive over 200 applications from 34 states and are sorry that we could only choose two percent of the applications for awards.
We used a rubric which considered financial need (students, staff, school, district), content/training/equipment need, commitment to implement SPARK successfully, staff and administration support for physical education, and the quality of the submission itself.
Due to the volume of applications and our desire to use all of Nike's funds for the awards and not for staff to oversee this program, we cannot provide specific scoring feedback to each site that applied.
Congratulations to the winners, and for those who did not receive this grant, please remember: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." All of our top researchers and educators have had grant submissions declined; the club is not exclusive. Don't be discouraged. Stay in the game and maybe next time you'll hear good news!
Sincerely,
The SPARK Team
