Health Services |
This component of the CDC model refers to those health services that should be provided to ALL students and staff to assess, protect, and promote their health.
Often, the school nurse is called upon to lead this effort. Tragically, not every school in the country has a full, or even part time school nurse on campus every day; and far too many schools have only remote access to nursing services and consultation. According to the CDC, whomever is tasked with this important role, should assume the following responsibilities:
Qualified professionals such as physicians, nurses, dentists, health educators, and other allied health personnel, must be utilized to provide these services.
SPARK's Role: SPARK CSHI cannot write a check to pay for the people you need to provide quality, affordable health services to your students and staff. What we hope to do, is provide helpful resources on our website that will save you time. We'll do the research and due dilligence that is required. This way, you'll know that if we recommend an agency, assessment tool, or approach, it will be because it has been shown to be effective and sustainable.
To have access to this section of our website (coming spring 2010) you'll need a user name and password, as it's only available to our SPARK Family.
It's easy to become a SPARK Family member; simply purchase one of our SPARK products or programs. For more information on how to become a member, Click Here.
